The grieving therapist begins to tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Despite his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge changes in people’s lives, including his own. When asked by Bill Lawrence how they got Harrison Ford to be on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted “a Harrison Ford type.” and intended to cast people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they should at least introduce him to Ford, thinking he would immediately turn it down, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had been offered the project, sparking interest from other notable actors. Eventually, Goldstein talked to Ford and sold him the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was elated nonetheless.. Featured on WatchMojo: The 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023). It was a solid piece and a very unique storyline. The acting was amazing. I love how each character acknowledges their imperfections and shows vulnerability and uses humor to encourage spiritual growth. Shrinking has plenty of heartfelt moments, awkward moments, gently funny cute moments, and laugh out loud moments. I hope they continue to make additional seasons of this show because the character development demands it. Is it perfect? No. But none of us are. I think the overuse of profanity takes away from the overall power potential. It feels like the writers are trying to force the show to be edgy. I personally don’t think it was necessary. That’s why I gave it an 8. Definitely worth watching.
